How to Reach Out
We are not doing enough to reach out to our community at VSM. What are some different ideas that we can use to reach out to the students in our area with the love of Jesus?

So, what do you think?

The task of reaching out to the community, I believe, has been placed too heavily on the ministry itself. The students in the youth group who go to public school have an almost unbeatable opportunity to witness. Suppose each student asked at leased ten people at school if they would come to youth, there is potential for exponential growth of the youth group in one, maybe two sundays. This type of outreach should be done without any sort of incentive, so as not to make the visitors feel as though they were only invited so that one of the students can get something new, E.G., an x-box. I’m not bashing the idea of using free stuff to encouraging students to witness, I am simply saying that we should be sure that we are reaching out in compassion.
I now realize that I have not provided any new ideas for witness above, and that is because I’m not creative. People. Brainstorm. Comment.
Thats a good question…
The students have get outside of their “comfort zone.” I think that’s probably one of the top 3 reasons why students aren’t inviting people to church.
Now, how do you get out of your comfort zone?? Im sure there are plenty of ways you can get out of it, maybe have another christan go with you and strike up a convo about God? Maybe pray in school and people will see that and they’ll as you about it? Maybe carry your Bible in the hallways?
There are a lot of ways, but it starts with the students. It doesn’t matter what people think of you, it matters that you’ll see your friend in heaven.
I think another way is that we could help out at the convoy of hope again.
