Meet Pastor Alan and Elizabeth Beauchamp

liz_and_alan Alan grew up in Kenosha, a small town (a suburb of Chicago at this point) in the great state of Wisconsin. He accepted the Lord as his savior in 2000 while attending UW LaCrosse. In the fall of 2000 he moved down to Springfield, MO and began attending Praise Assembly as a member of the Master’s Commission program. He was a part of that program for three years before moving on to Central Bible College, where he majored in Biblical Languages. After graduating as Valedictorian in 2006, he came on staff at Praise Assembly as the Student Ministries Pastor.

Elizabeth grew up in Springfield, MO, attending Praise Assembly for as long as she can remember. Because her mother was the Music Minister at Praise, she has many fond memories of being around and exploring the church from a very young age. After graduating from High School as Valedictorian, she also attended Master’s Commission from 2000-2001. From there, she headed to UM Rolla and eventually MSU where she graduated with a degree in Actuarial Mathematics.

Alan and Liz met in 2000 while attending Master’s Commission. After dating for four years, they were finally married in 2005. On June 3, 2010 they added the third piece to the puzzle. Little Clara Beauchamp was born at 8 pounds 13.2 ounces.

What We Believe

We believe that God is real and that He is so interested in meeting with us that He tells us about Himself in the Bible. We also believe that God is beyond comprehension, that in some way He is One God, but also a trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is both human and God, fully both. Man is inherently evil, because of what our ancestor Adam did, but that because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, we can all be reunited with God. Because of this, we do some things, like communion and baptism, as physical symbols of what is going on behind the scenes.
We believe that God has given us the very special gift of the Spirit who lives in us and helps us. We can tell we have this gift by the ability to speak in other languages, which we do not fully understand.
We believe that faith is all it takes to become a follower of Christ, but that there is also a process which must take place in every follower so that they might become more like Jesus. We also have been called to share this new faith with others, as we are led by those whom God has put in leadership over us. God gave us everything we need when He sent His son to die, not just everlasting life, but also physical healing.
Finally, we believe that Christ will return one day to earth and will reign for 1,000 years along with us, followed by a judgement and the formation of a completely new heaven and new earth.
